Originally released to little interest in 1987, desire for this album has grown over the years, along with the clutch of 12” singles that also emerged at the time. Little Kirk Davis, the brother of dancehall superstar Beenie Man, nurtured by Shocking Vibes’ owner Patrick Roberts, was sixteen when he recorded this album, produced by US based Casanova Bennett aka Ruddy’s at Phillip Smart’s HC&F Studio, Long Island and including Studio One legend Jackie Mittoo on piano. The songs are written by Kirk and Patrick Roberts with Screechy Across The Border and the title track both gaining release on 12”, although the toughest track of the lot, the monumental Weed Them Out is sadly not included here. These tracks were coveted by roots fans in the UK after sounds like Jah Shaka and Manasseh began playing them and now fetch unlikely sums on the collectors market, as does this album, now treated to a timely reissue courtesy French label Livity Reggae.
