Two Rocksteady Hits from 1968, this was Dawn Penn’s first recorded song. B-side is by Derrick Morgan and the Blues Blenders (Kenneth (Froggie) aka Ken Parker, Bill and Jill). Dawn Penn recalls: “When I’m Gonna Be Free” was composed and recorded when I was having on-going stress with my dad on the subject of couldn’t get permission to go out/ socialise. He was very strict and it was home, school and church. Thank God for those were the days. Bless”
