Crowned Eagle sees UK dub and bass head Alpha Steppa work alongside long-time collaborator Franco-Nigerian reggae vocalist Nai-Jah. The album pairs ten vocal cuts with ten heavyweight dubs, all of which draw deeply on Nai-Jah’s African heritage to explore ancestry, resistance and spiritual strength – all of which have long been cornerstones of this music. Roots reggae and dub sit alongside Afrobeat influences, all shaped through Alpha Steppa’s spacious, conscious production style. Lyrically and musically, the record reflects on modern struggle while staying grounded in some lasting reggae traditions. For those interested, a worldwide tour is planned for 2026.
